Adolf Dassler dreamed of making the perfect shoe for every sportsman. With this vision in mind, he started to make shoes back in the 1920s and, in 1949, filed an application for a patent on the now unmistakable trademark, the three stripes. In August 1971, the Trefoil was born out of more than 100 ideas. Inspired by the 3-Stripes, it is a geometric execution with a triple intersection, symbolising the diversity of the adidas brand.
Today, it plays the important role of representing the adidas Originals collection. Since 2001, it has combined the sporting history of adidas with contemporary street style to provide cult articles from past decades. With its credible street style products – from sporty through casual to elegant – adidas Originals underlines its authenticity as a fashion brand. For many, the sneaker is the most elegant shoe of all time because it goes with whatever look you decide to wear and is a genuine favourite.
